1. When does the session start and classes commence?
The academic session starts in July and classes commence in August.
2. When should I apply for my child's admission?
Playgroup: Apply in September for the next academic session.
Nursery to Class X: Apply in January for the next session.
A’ Level: Apply in June for the next session.
3. When should we apply for Playgroup admission?
Parents are advised to apply when the child is 3+ years old, and it is best to apply by September for the following session.

Once the application form is submitted it will be assessed through a pre-selection procedure. If selected, then the student and parents will be called for the admission test and/or interview (depending on the class in which you want to admit your child). After the test and/or interview either admission is offered, rejected or the names are placed the waiting list if there is no seat available.
6. How long is the admission process?
Please note that we receive a large number of applications every month. We need to go through several procedures like pre-selection, admission test, parents’ interview and so on. Therefore, we need some time to complete all the steps. However, all the procedures are generally completed within two weeks after receiving the application.
7. What type of questions might be asked during the interview?
The interview is an opportunity for potential parents to ask us questions and get clarification on any aspect of our school, and it is a chance for our admission committee to get to know the parents who are applying. There is no specific question nor do parents need to prepare in any way. Most interviews are conducted through general conversations.
8. On which subjects are the written exams taken?
The exams are taken on three core subjects – English, Maths, Bangla and Science. However, Bangla is exempted during the admission test for foreign students. Please note that it is mandatory for all students at HURDCO to take Bangla, so please discuss this issue with the school authority if you have any concern. The school does offer special classes for students whose proficiency level in Bangla is lower than the required standard due to living abroad or for foreign students.
9. Why do you take a security deposit and when will it be refunded?
If any student leaves the school without any notice then enrolment will be cancelled after two months and security deposit will be forfeited. However, if any student leaves in July or August then the security deposit may be refunded but if any student leaves after August, then the security deposit will be forfeited as per policy.

11. What curriculum does HURDCO SChool follow?
HURDCO offers the O’ and A’ Level curriculum under the Cambridge International Examination (CIE) board.

13. What is the minimum criteria for getting admission to the A Level program (Class XI-XII)?
The A’ Level is a very rigorous and demanding course of study. Students may take only those subjects in the A’ Level which they have already completed in the O’ Level and they must have obtained at least Grade ‘C’ in respective subjects. They must also obtain a Grade ‘B’ or above in English Language. A student must appear for or complete at least 6 subjects in O’ Level to join our A’ Level program. Students given provisional admission will be given confirmation to continue only after their O’ Level results are accepted by the school.
14. What subjects are offered in the different sections?
HURDCO International School’s forward-looking attitude is also evident in the subjects it offers. It also offers Computer Science as compulsory from playgroup to grade eight, Computer Science in O Level and Computing and Applied ICT may be taken in AS level.
15. Is Bangla compulsory for all the students?
Ans. No, Bangla is not compulsory for NRB or foreign students.
16. What are the lab facilities for the students?
Ans. The school has separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science meeting highest international standards. These four laboratories have been designed in accordance with the standards conforming to the requirements of Cambridge International Examinations and are used extensively by the students of O and A Levels. All four laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art resources and materials. All possible safety measures are observed to make the laboratory a safe place for learning.
17. Is Computer Science introduced from junior classes?
Ans. Computer Science is a compulsory subject from KG-I to Gr-VIII.
18. Is there any library at your school?
Ans. The school library has a well-stocked with more than 8000 books. It provides an attractive blend of text books and a broad range of non-fiction material with a rich variety of fiction to suit all young tastes. These are supported with an extensive range of newspapers, magazines and journals. There is a growing collection of multi-media resources to enrich further the learning experience of pupils.
There is also a resource centre in the senior section to meet the needs of senior students.
19. What are the training facilities for teachers at your school?
Ans. To be recognized internationally, teachers need to develop excellent skills in English language. HURDCO students can take Cambridge Young Learners of English (YLE) examinations: Starters, Movers and Flyers and the PET and KET. At the end of Class 8, students can take the Cambridge Checkpoint examinations in English, Maths and Science to get a good measure of their progress with two academic years to go until their O levels.
Teachers are getting prestigious international training imparted by CIE every year. In-house training is also conducted for at the beginning of each academic session.
20. Is there any transport facility for students?
Ans. Yes, transport is available for the students. Any student from KG-I to A level can avail transport. For more details, please contact the Transport Manager.
21. What are the disciplinary actions at your school?
Ans. So far the school discipline at the premises is concerned, a ‘Disciplinary Action Committee’ has been formed with the senior teachers from every section.

Ans. HURDCO has employed regular P.E. teachers to coach and trained students for football, basketball, handball, and cricket.
